My friend, Jim, called me for advice about air conditioner units. He said he’s been having a lot of trouble with his air conditioners lately, and the repairman advised him to replace all units with ducted air conditioners. Jim said he wanted my opinion about the repairman’s advice.

“Well, Jim. How long have your air conditioners been working for you and your house? If they’ve been around for quite some time already, then I would have to agree with the repairman. You have to get more energy-efficient units that will do the job for you at lesser electricity.”

“I think they’ve been around for six years already, but I made sure that my air conditioners are well-maintained. But lately, they’ve been leaking out the refrigerant liquid. I think I’ll follow the repairman’s advice.” He finally conceded. “But what do you think about ducted air conditioners?”

“Definitely get them, Jim. Last year when I replaced my split-type units, I attempted to replace them individually. However, after going around for prices, I realized that it was cheaper to get the ducted system than get individual units for each room. Plus, there’s less noise with the ducted system. So yes, I recommend the ducted system.”

“If you say so, mate!” Jim said
